Call of Duty Esports

Esports for those do not know is short for electronic sports. These are video games that are played at a competive level. They are played on console, pc, and even mobile. Almost every big multiplayer video game has competitive competition. My favorite of all of them is Call of Duty.

Call of Duty is a first person shooter. In competitive, the players play best of 5 in three different gamemodes. The gamemodes have different objectives that requires making strategic plays and having good skill on the controller.

In esports the teams that compete at the highest levels compete under organizations. In the Call of Duty League, teams compete under organizatons in major cities. Some of the teams in the league are the Dallas Empire, Chicago Huntsmen, New York Subliners and the Toronto Ultra. They compete in home series that each city takes turn hosting. The home series determine the seedings for the final tournmant of the year, Call of Duty League Championship.

For me, esports is just as hype and a big of a deal as traditional sports. I watch every tournament rooting on my favorite teams. I would like to work in the esports community later in life.
